CORRECTION:  Raider is at is again with spreading misinformation.  He references a Disneyland ride at the 21-minute mark and calls it Rebels Run.  The ride he was actually referencing is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
 
FighterWizard & Raiderlance spend a solid forty minutes gushing over the new Disney+ show Andor.  They both agree that the story telling and perspective of this show is a breath of fresh air for the Star Wars universe.  We cannot wait to see watch the rest of this series unfold.
 
The gents spend the last ten minutes discussing minority representation in shows and whether the effort to bring about more diversity is well received or off putting.

Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

This is a pretty straight forward episode. FigtherWizard begins with a short presentation of the subject to be discussed: Rogue One. 
 
The guys cover what they liked about the movie, what they disliked about the movie, and why this movie was important to them.  There is very little fat on this episode, but Raider still manages to insult women while white knighting for them.  His ability to infuriate people while simultaneously trying to come to their aid is most impressive.

The Flash & the Controversy Surrounding the Movie Production

Raiderlance was wholly ignorant of problems surrounding the actor who played the Flash in the upcoming DC movie.  IEG layes it all out to Raiderlance’s surprise.  Look everyone is innocent until proven guilty under the eyes of the law. We know there is a movement to “believe all women,” but believing the facts seems to be the better route.  So let’s wait for the evidence to be presented.  With that being said, if these allegations prove true Raiderlance volunteers to reprise the role of the Dark Knight and dole out some street justice.

Marvel’s What…IF? Season 2

The Rise of Nerd Culture & The Resulting Social Hierarchy

Raiderlance starts off itemizing how this podcast has become a labor of love for all three of the hosts.  While Fighter2Wizard5 swallows the bait hook, line, and sinker.  Then they get into a yet another conversation about BJJ & Krav Maga and how sometimes an opponent just has your number even though you may be more skilled then them. 
 
Raiderlance proceeds to tell a glorious story on how to quickly humble and aggressive training partner.  Check your schools’ rules and guidelines before applying this story’s lesson on the mat.  Legend has it, this bad training partner still has to avert his eyes when watching football and the kicker takes the field. 
 
Fighter2Wizard5 raises the topic of the rise of nerd culture and how it has joined mainstream culture.  The guys share their experiences growing up as nerds and how it was much different than the youths of today.  Raiderlance attempts to sound intelligent by utilizing a concept he once heard about from a Dr. Jordan Peterson video regarding social hierarchy and applies it to how that concept is now playing out in the nerd culture.  Both agree though, that nerds in general should tone down the trash talking amongst themselves and try getting on the mat even if it is only a little bit.
 
Finally Fighter2Wizard goes Over The Top with his mini review of one the 1980’s crown jewels of cinema.  He even unveils another one of his many talents.  Doing impressions.

Is She-Hulk, Attorney at Law Woke? Part III (Discussion of Episodes 7 & 8)

Raiderlance starts off the show with a case of sundowning and can’t remember what year it is.  So in an attempt of salvage his reputation he goes off like a dirty bomb and everyone on the show and listening to the show catches some heat. 
 
IEG provides an account of what happened in Episodes 7 & 8 of She-Hulk, while Raider focuses on Jennifer’s body count and the LEGEND that is Josh.  Next IEG begins to give predictions about what will happen in the Finale.  (Spoiler alert he has no clue).  While wrapping up the show Raider again tries takes stock of whether this show is woke and ranks it on a 1 to 10 scale.  IEG masterfully distances himself from Raider’s opinions.  Both guys are still fans and are not looking forward to the end of the show.

Is She-Hulk, Attorney at Law Woke? Part II (Discussion of Episodes 4 through 6)

Recorded on October 1, 2022.   This is a stand-alone episode with Raiderlance and his Catfish buddy IceyEyedGnome.  Viewer discretion is advised.
 
Raiderlance immediately comes out the gate attacking IEG.  IEG is forced to remind Raider that he isn’t even tall enough to get on certain rides at various theme parks.  Low blow sir!
 
The two hosts go through the major events of each episode.  IEG uses his comic and Marvel knowledge to fill in some gaps.  He also gives the show praise for reminding the audience that it is lawyer show first and a superhero show second.  Raiderlance on the other hand attempts to pretend that he has litigation experience and discusses the Motion for Summary Judgment in the show.  Raiderlance also takes issue with She-Hulk’s love life and her relationship decisions, but we all know it is from a place of sour grapes. 
 
Finally, the two hosts return to discussion of whether She-Hulk, Attorney at Law is a proponent of progressive or woke agenda.  IEG sticks to his guns, but Raiderlance has a slight change of heart and identifies a number of factors that suggest the show may be more woke than he initially believed.  With that said, both hosts are still fans and looking forward to the remaining episodes.

What Do You Collect & Why?

While Raiderlance collects hate letters, Transformers action figures, and vintage Marvel enamel pins made by Planet Studios.  Take a guess which is the largest collection.

The Science Behind Covid, Its Vaccine, & Annoying Fighter2Wizard5

Fighter2Wizard5 discloses his academic chops as a Ph.D in molecular biology specifically focusing on retroviral pathogeneses.  Although he may not be an expert specifically to Covid he does a good job breaking down the science of the disease.  Raiderlance on the other hand got a B minus in Biology and always wanted a Sega Genesis when he was a kid so… he did a lot of listening during this conversation.
 
This is not podcast trying to persuade you one way on the other on the Vaccine.  Nor should the information provided be taken as medical advice. Is She-Hulk, Attorney at Law Woke? (Discussion of Episodes 1 through 3)

IceyEyedGnome (IEG) & Raiderlance continue their conversation, but shift to the topic to the new Disney+ show She-Hulk, Attorney at law.  This show has a great dichotomy between the two hosts: Raiderlance struggles with his immense attraction to She-Hulk despite her not meeting any of the characterizes of a woman who fits his type.  While IEG has absolutely no struggle finishing his drink during the show.  What can we say, IEG is a professional.
 
The two hosts discuss whether or not the criticism of She-Hulk being a proponent of the woke agenda is valid.  (Spoiler Alert) If She-Hulk twerking is part of the woke agenda then we are all in!  Although both hosts are not fans of male feminist, they are both fans of this show.  IEG gives his expert viewpoints on the Marvel Universe lore for She-Hulk and Raiderlance gives his expert opinion on why the law profession has higher rates of alcoholism than other professions.  (Sad statistic but true.)

Introductions, Insults, & Honey-do lists

Raiderlance actually pulled it off!... What?...  No, not that.  Mrs. Lance is still stubbornly refusing his repeated requests for a concubine.
That selfish…
 
No we were referring to Raiderlance conning another of his buddies to do the podcast with him.  This time he roped in IceyEyedGnome (IEG), his good buddy from Marvel Strike Force.  If you ever read their discord or in-game chat threads you would understand that the essence of Combative Nerds has been around for years.  So this episode we will make introductions and you will witness first hand that Raiderlance is an equal opportunity bad friend who will sh*t on anyone in his vicinity.  It’s not his fault he expresses love through insults, it’s society fault.  Or at least that is the convivence excuse handed to him by academia and the media, so why not go with that!
 
IEG lands a quick low blow in their exchange early on.  But Raiderlance masterfully jiu jitsu’s IEG into talking about his Honey-do list and the angst of that responsibility leaves IEG defeated.  It was easily a 10-8 round for Raiderlance and he will celebrate by having a victory drink!

So during the hilarious outro of Episode 3B (we are still proud of that one) Raiderlance mentioned that we would be discussing the reversing of the U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade.  Well, we recorded that podcast.  Then had to take off two months to set up the podcast, socials, etc.  Because that subject is no longer topical and because we want you guys to know us better before Raiderlance pisses you off with his opinions and jokes that are “too soon,” we decided to hold that podcast back.  (In reality Raiderlance didn’t want to edit the entire episode.) 
 
As a compromise we are publishing a message to our listeners and the first ten or so minutes of the podcast.  Raiderlance even managed to slide in a dig on Fighter2Wizard5.  Oh and most importantly Raiderlance finally got a new mic!!!!  Just don’t ask him about the size,  shape, and proximity of the mic to his face.  He is still battling through his emotions.

Review of Obi-Wan Kenobi Finale

This is Raiderlance.  I mean… I gave myself a pep talk, I convinced myself that everything would be ok.  But now after recording the episode, I just… I just can’t handle the despair I feel knowing that the series is over.  Look I got a big mouth, and I do a lot of writing for a living and I still can’t come up with enough compliments for the writing, acting, and directing that took place in the final episode. 
 
I don’t know what is worse.  The sadness that washes over me when thinking about this show being over or how the writers forced Reva into the storytelling in the last episode.  I mean honestly, if they edited out all of her scenes from episode 6 would the story really have changed much?
